Custom Training Plans
When most athletes think of training plans, this is what they are looking for!
We will start with an interview, either in person or via Zoom or phone. I’ll collect information about your athletic history, experience in the sport, current levels of fitness, your goals for the coming season, and much more.
Then MY work begins! Based on your current level of fitness, your experience, your sport limiters and your goals, I’ll begin devising an overall annual training plan. Once we have the overall plan “penciled in,” weekly and daily workouts will be developed and customized for you – your level of fitness, your limiters, your upcoming races, the time you have to train, etc.
These are loaded into TrainingPeaks.com and you have access to them through your TrainingPeaks account (required annual subscription). You and I will communicate through text or through the TrainingPeaks app. As your fitness levels change and your body acclimates to the increased training demands, we’ll continue modifying workouts – durations, intervals, overall load, etc. – so that your body adapts, getting stronger and faster – and not just stronger and faster, but faster at the right times, for the right races, with fatigue lowered and fitness gains to allow for your best performances.
Every week, I’ll be uploading workouts all the while preparing for the next event, big race or fitness test as we progress through your season together.
We’ll also talk about race strategies – when to push on the bike, when to eat & drink, how much fluid to take on; building a plan for your run, how to tackle hills, and when and how to pace or push. This is more than just a customized training plan – it’s guidance and expertise from my years of racing to help improve your approach and experience.

1-Time Training Plans
A less-expensive, customized way to train!
You can find many different training plans online to purchase – a coach comes up with a generic training plan, publishes it, and makes it available for anyone to purchase.
But you’re not “anyone” and your level of experience, limiters in the sport(s), availability to train, the current level of fitness, and multiple race goals over the course of the year cannot be taken into consideration with a one-size-fits-all plan.
You might be looking to complete a first sprint triathlon. Or maybe it’s your first Olympic distance event. Maybe you’ve self-coached for a year or two and now you want to hit that end of season 70.3 and perform well in shorter races throughout the summer. Whatever it is you are shooting for, we can make it work.

You and I will walk through an interview either on the phone or online and I’ll create a customized annual training plan that meets your race goals, based on your current level of fitness, time to train, limiters and much, much more.
Then, if you see a need, you can reach out and at one time through the year, I’ll take your current data (if in TrainingPeaks or other tools) and adjust the remainder of your annual plan to scale up or scale back based on your actual progress.
Some athletes set aggressive goals for how much time they’ll be able to carve out of a busy life to train and then aren’t able to keep up. Or maybe an injury has you sidelined for a couple of weeks and you need to modify your training for an “A” race. Sometimes life just happens and we need to step back for a while, putting goals or training time on hold.
Any of these and other unexpected events can happen – I’ll work with you to adjust your training to maximize your time, workouts, and achievements.
Pricing for 1-Time training plans varies based on the duration of the training and the number of “A” priority races.

Sports Psychology
For clients in Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas, we can meet online or in-person (Kansas City metro) to address the mental side of sport. When that’s holding you back – pre-race anxiety, fear of failure, fear of success, struggling to return after an injury, dealing with the aftermath of a serious injury – enjoyment can be really difficult.
Losing something you enjoy or love can create depression, feelings of failure, shame and more. Not everyone will understand how important swimming, biking and running are to you (or your sport of choice), but I get it and I can help you get back into the game.
